One common modification is changing the stock heads and cams. Many stock engines have one intake valve and one exhaust valve. That is what you call cheap-horsepower.Another common way to increase your horsepower is to pack more air into each cylinder. This in turn allows you to add more fuel making more cheap-horsepower. Turbo chargers/super chargers pressurize the incoming air to effectively cram more air/fuel into each cylinder. But… while burning more fuel is great for more power, it is not so great for the day to day grind. If you install Nitrous (NOS), with the flick of a switch you can easily add cheap-horsepower anytime you want, while maintaining the ability to drive your stock engine to work without stopping to fill up your gas tank every other block.Contrary to common belief Nitrous (NOS) is not bad for your engine if used properly.
