Buying a Forklift

Author : Thomas Morva
early any warehouse, freight dock, construction site, and manufacturing plant needs a forklift. Forklifts can be bought new or used from many different sources. It is vital that forklift buyers know exactly what they are looking for before they purchase a forklift. Several factors need to be considered before the buyer makes a decision. The price of the forklift and the main tasks it will be used for are two of the most important factors in choosing which forklift to buy.New forklifts generally cost at least $15,000. Electric forklifts are generally more expensive at the time of purchase but they save money in the long run. A forklift for sale with an internal combustion engine may cost less to buy but must be refueled often. The common price range for a standard 5,000-pound forklift is between $16,000 and $30,000 depending on the feature offered.Forklifts with greater lifting capacity can cost much more, forklifts that can carry 35,000 pounds will cost at least a hundred thousand dollars. Used forklifts cost significantly less but are still expensive. A used forklift can cost as little as half as much as a comparably equipped new one, but may need more repairs, and so the money that a person saves when buying a used forklift may need to be spent later on repairs. It is important to buy a used forklift with a warranty in case it does need repairs. What the forklift is used for is also important. Some forklifts are made exclusively for indoor use, while others are equipped to ride over rugged uneven terrain outdoors. Forklifts all have different lifting capabilities as well. When looking for a forklift for sale it is important for buyers to keep their own needs in mind and buy the best possible forklift for their requirements.Buying a forklift can be a daunting process. With so many models on the market and so many uses for them, it is often difficult to find the perfect one. Forklift shoppers should be sure to keep their budget and needs in mind when finding purchasing a forklift.Forklifts Info provides detailed information about forklifts, including rough terrain and truck-mounted forklifts, used forklifts, and forklifts for sale, as well as forklift parts, accessories, operators, and safety. Car Covers Keep You Covered

Author : Matthew Keegan
If your car is left out in the open for any period of time, it is subject to the whims of the elements. Your new car finish will soon be at the mercy of Mother Nature, who doesn't take too kindly to man made objects. The solution for you is a car cover -- not just any car cover -- but one that offers maximum protection.I will not discuss the various brands of car covers available for your car as I do not want to appear to be endorsing a particular manufacturer, especially one that I have not used. Still, a car cover is necessary if you leave your car outside. The following are some of the things that can wreak havoc on your car's exterior:1. Bird poop2. Tree sap, leaves, and small branches3. Moisture: rain, snow, sleet, ice, and hail4. Flying debris: whatever the wind kicks up5. People: there is something about a new car that attracts nosey [and dirty] visitors. Don't encourage people to lean up against your car and peer in at the interior. What people cannot see, they cannot touch!6. The sun's rays7. Dust, dirt, and debrisWhen shopping for a new car cover you must determine the following:1. Is the car cover custom fitted for my make/model or is it a one size fits all model? Guess which one looks better and offers the best protection!2. What level of protection does the car cover offer? Will it protect my car from moisture as well as from harmful rays of the sun? How many layers of material does it consist of? Thin car covers will rip and need replacing in no time. Remember, you get the quality level you paid for.3. Does it come with side mirror pocket? The most expensive ones do and they fit your car the snuggest.Of course there is no substitute for a garaged vehicle. Even then parking in a garage subjects your car to dust, nicks, and scrapes so a car cover can come in handy for these cars too.Matthew Keegan is the owner of a successful article writing, web design, and marketing business based in North Carolina, USA. One of the problems a car typically encounters is overheating, and most likely, it's one of the major causes of annoyance among drivers. Your Mazda no matter how finely built, is not exempted from having these problems. Sooner or later, some of your mazda parts and auto parts, especially those in the cooling system may need repair or replacement. However, changing or replacing them too often could be prevented by having a highly efficient replacement Mazda cooling system parts. The hoses, gaskets, radiator cap are among those that are subject to abuse and overuse. It is only right to give your car the best replacement Mazda cooling system parts. Now the good news is, everything you need from Mazda 323 parts to Mazda 626 parts, Mazda 808 parts, Mazda Protege parts, Mazda pickup parts to Mazda MX-3 parts, can now be easily and conveniently bought online. What are the indications of a faulty cooling system? If you notice leaks, hoses are possibly broken. This is alarming since the coolant can escape and so the system can no longer cool the engine. This in effect, can damage the engine's performance. If the water pump cannot turn, something might be wrong with the fan belt. It could be broken or severely damaged. If this happens the coolant won't be able to circulate around the engine and hence, the engine overheats.Leaking coolant can also indicate water pump failure. This is further manifested by a screeching sound and a pungent coolant odor. Meanwhile, if the head gasket is damaged, you will see white smoke coming out from the exhaust. This happens when the head gasket was not able to seal coolant passages, allowing it to enter the cylinder where it is turned into vapor as the engine burns the air and fuel mixture.Overheating could also be caused by a faulty radiator cap. Getting a top quality Mazda radiator cap and all other cooling system auto parts from a trusted Mazda parts and auto parts dealer is a way to ensure your cooling system's proper functioning and as well as your safety and driving satisfaction.Mazda Parts and Car PartsMazda Miata PartsMazda cooling system parts.-----------------------Margaret Adams is the present manager of the largest auto manufacturing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Consumers, Start Your Engines: There is Still Time to Get a Great Deal on a New Car

Author : Simon Fox
From now until the end of 2005, buying a new car will cost less with low interest rates and buyer incentives. With interest rates still at historical lows, buying a new car is an attractive option. Even though the Feds have raised the interest rates several times over the past eighteen months, they are still lower than they were in the 90s and are certainly at a favorable rate for great financing. Someone with good to excellent credit who is looking to purchase a new vehicle should do so now, before the rates go higher. The sale of cars in the U.S. remains very strong, despite an overall decline in many sectors of the national economy. Even the red hot real estate market has started to trend downward, but the sale of automobiles continues to speed on. With the threat of more rate hikes, the cost of the recent hurricane disasters, rising unemployment and inflation, the continuing high car sales are an important gauge of consumer confidence. However, recent indicators show that that confidence is falling, making the last quarter of 2005 the time to purchase a new vehicle, before the beginning of a new year and a very uncertain future.Along with the low interest rates is a new buyer incentive program, which has been seen all over the television this Summer. Certain car manufacturers have been offering their "employee discounts" to the general consumer. In other words, the discounted price paid by an employee of the car company has been passed on to the general public. This has been very successful, resulting in an upswing in car sales so substantial that the offers have been extended. These are American companies offering this type of saving. Foreign cars, Japanese in particular, traditionally sell well without incentive programs. The end of the year is typically a good time to buy a new car anyway. From September on, dealerships are trying to clear off their lots to get ready for a new shipment. This, along with the current low rates and incentives, makes this time a great one for buying. Business for car dealerships tends to slow down around the holidays, making for extra consumer leverage in getting the perfect deal.HowMuchAnswers.com explores ways in which to buy a car at the best price and interest rate, and offers tips on finding a low cost auto insurance policy.

The Safest Cars on the Road

Author : Steven Anderson
When you go car shopping you are probably dazzled by the sports cars or even the
big burly SUVs as well as the shiny colors and whether or not the vehicle is fully
loaded. Frequently, you will hear people talking about what car they want to buy and
will hear them mention things like leather seats, a great sound system, DVD players
and mini TV screens, great rims and other similar features. However, unfortunately,
you do not frequently hear people talking about the safety rating of the vehicle and
how well it performed in crash tests or if it has recently been recalled. For some
reason Americans are more consumed with how comfortable and cool their car is
and makes them rather than how safe it can keep them. However, even if consumers
are not overly interested in safe cars insurance companies are.Insurance companies focus on keeping people safe, reducing accidents, and
ultimately the amount of money they have to pay out for coverage. So, safe cars are
the pick of the litter so to speak for insurance companies. They are so favored, in
fact, that insurance companies frequently offer discounts to individuals who buy
safe cars resulting in hundreds of dollars in savings each year on premiums. Safe
does not mean the car is unattractive or without all the extras you want, so get it
out of your head that safe does not equal cool.
And while the trend may not change and people will continue to look for cool cars,
they should keep in mind that there are indeed cool cars that are also safe cars.
Each year a rating list of the top 25 safest cars is produced and if you are in the car
buying market you should definitely take a peak and see if the car you are
interested in buying is on that list. If not, check out the other safe cars that did
make the list and see if you can find something that is equally cool and considerably
safer. The following cars made it on the safe car list and also have some amazing
features that will please even the pickiest car connoisseur.Upscale Cars
If you are interested in and can afford an upscale car and are also concerned about
safety, then you should consider the Audi A4 or perhaps the BMW 330i. The Lexus
ES300 also ranked high in the crash tests and overall safety in the upscale sedan
category.Small CarsSmall cars that rank high on the top 25 safety car list include the Volkswagen golf
and Honda Civic which received the top honors. Another safe car in this category
includes the Volkswagen Jetta.Midsize CarsVolkswagen also took the top prize in the midsize category with the Volkswagen
Passat GLX 6.0. The Nissan Altima and Subaru Legacy also ranked high in the mid
size family sedan category.PickupsEveryone thinks pickup trucks are safe, however some are safer than others and
generally pick up trucks are not as safe as cars. In the top 25 safest cars the Toyota
Tundra SR5 4.7, Ford F150 XLT 5.4, and the Dodge Ram SLT 4.7 ranked higher and
safer than the rest.Minivans and SUVsThe minivan and SUV category have an interesting array of really safe vehicles and
then some that are hazards to drivers and passengers. Minivans that responded well
in the tests include the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey EX, and the Mazda MPV. The
safest SUVs include the Lexus RX300, Toyota Highlander, and the Saturn VUE as well
as others.Of course, you could choose to buy a safe vehicle and still be injured in an accident.
This is because there is no perfect car that is constructed in a way that it can protect
you 100%. However, there are plenty of cars that are significantly safer than others
and as a result consumers should pay attention to these cars. Fortunately, some of
the safer models are actually very stylish and come with the latest gadgets and
features so many people are looking for in a new car. So, no matter if you want the
coolest car on the market you can still find one that is rated high in the safety
category. Honda, Lexus, BMW, Saturn, Volkswagen, and others all ranked high in
their respective categories and are all very popular car models. Also, cars today are
significantly safer than they were even 15 years ago and tires are safer as well.If you buy a used vehicle that is 10-15 years old you can rest assured it will not
have the same safety qualities as new cars made today. The reason for this is safety
standards were different as well as the technology used to build the cars. As a
result, older cars simply are not as safe. The best option for your safety and that of
your family and other passengers is to buy a car that is ranked high on the safety
list and rest assured that if you are in an accident your car will protect you as much
as possible because it was designed with safety in mind. By making safety one of
the qualities you look for in a vehicle, even above price or design, you are choosing
to protect yourself and your family, which is the best decision you can possibly
make. Remember to take a look at the top 25 list before you start car shopping. Not
only are the top 25 cars in all categories listed, but some of the worst cars are listed
as well so you will know what to avoid. Happy car shopping!Steven Anderson is the Marketing Director for Hawaiian Discount Car Rentals

Mobile Car Wash; Staying on the Route

Author : Lance Winslow
Those who run mobile carwashes or mobile auto detailing business know that with high fuel prices of $3.00 or more per gallon that staying on the route is critical. In fact with today's traffic it is almost mandatory that you adhere to the most efficient routing possible. Most smart mobile car wash operators and their crews are on strict routes and since everyone owns at least one car, they target our customers, which are most near our current master planned routes. Usually when mobile car wash companies add units they fill up almost immediately. Some mobile car wash companies are not worried about new customers knowing they could put 50 units in their regional area of operation and keep them all busy. Even those areas, which are services by licensees, a franchisee or another mobile car wash owner sharing a common name of the original operator will run into the same problems of expanding until their businesses before the routing is completely efficient. Many mobile car wash operators are slammed with business and they are satisfied with the current size of their business. Even those who once considered expanding are now uncertain if they will be adding units before next summer. Due to the cost of fuel many operators pack their routes so tight that they are only taking new customers, which are exactly across the street or next door to current customers.Mobile Car Wash and Auto Detailing Companies make money when washing and they lose money when driving in traffic. Due to summer volumes and fall volumes many mobile car washing companies will not be expanding until Spring and only if the fuel prices come back down under $1.60 per gallon. Fat Chance!Mobile Car Wash Operators would be advised to do direct sales and sign up their weekly
customers where their schedules allow them to do so, since everyone loves the service, rather than advertising and getting calls from all over the place. In fact one of the most recent concepts for mobile car wash owners is to turn off their cell phones while working and allow everything to go to voice mail and save the money on the phone bill and stay efficient while working instead of trying to talk with one hand and wash with the other. Most Mobile Car Wash Operators feel bad about turning away business, but they need to be honest with their customers and explain the routing systems and tell them that they are not looking for new business, after all it is chasing them wherever we go. Perhaps you might expand your own auto appearance business in your market since your volumes will be high as soon as fuel costs come down; you have trained another crew and have considered the most efficient routing. Think on this.Lance Winslow - Online Think Tank forum board. If you have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives, come think with Lance; www.WorldThinkTank.net/wttbbs/

Weather and Car Cover Fundamentals

Author : Matthew Keegan
Selecting a car cover for your truck, van, SUV, or passenger car is a matter of finding one that fits your car and going with that one, right? Well, there is a lot more to it than simply purchasing a car cover. Size does matter, but so do quality, durability, and price. Let's examine some of the fundamentals in selecting a car cover for vehicle.Car covers -- or weather covers as some prefer to call them -- have been successfully covering vehicles for several generations now thanks to the ingenious and persistent work of designers who properly measure each new model to make sure that every cover is custom fitted. One of the first companies to get started in the business was Covercraft, founded in 1965 in Southern California. Covercraft, like so many American success stories, was a two man operation that outfitted car covers for street rods, import makes including Porsche, and for the aftermarket supply network. The company boasts of having produced 55,000 styles of car covers for just about every make and model of vehicle on the road. There are other brands on the market; however Covercraft is dominant and favored by automobile wholesalers such as the Auto Parts Warehouse. When selecting your car cover, you will learn that a manufacturer can make several different car covers for one model. Basic covers offer limited protection from such hazards as bird excrement and flying debris while premium car covers offer extensive protection from the following:Harmful and penetrating solar rays.Moisture, including rain, snow, sleet, hail, and ice.Flying debris and/or small impacts to the vehicle's body: dings, scratches.Pollution, dirt, and dust.Bird excrement, tree sap, etc.The top of the line car covers typically come with mirror pockets to give your vehicle the best fit. Most car covers are generally made of 1, 2, 3, or 4 layers of durable polypropylene [a thermoplastic polymer that is highly resistant to acid and chemical solvents]; more layers mean better protection for your vehicle from the above mentioned hazards. So, aren't weather covers for people who park their vehicles outside, hence the name? No, garaged vehicles are also subject to pollution and dirt; if you are interested in keeping your car looking showroom new than a car cover makes perfect sense.Prices can range from approximately $45 to just over $200 for a top of the line model. You can save money by purchasing from an online wholesaler who will obtain the car cover directly from the manufacturer, bypassing the middleman. Most car covers come with a warranty and should give your car years of protection for a small amount of money.Matt is a contributing writer for Auto Parts Warehouse, an online wholesaler of high quality automobile parts and accessories. You can find Porsche Car Covers from Covercraft through our online store.

Car Tips 2 - Be Considerate

Author : Steven Wong
Drive considerately and courteously.Be polite and well mannered when driving on the road. Don't copy road bullies. They are not a good example to follow. Like the saying goes: "Do unto others what you like others to do unto you."Be thoughtful of other road users even though they may be pedestrians, cyclists or motorists.
Your understanding and caring actions and examples will help to reduce accidents.Control your temper and obey all traffic signs and rules. Do not try to beat the traffic lights. Many accidents occur at traffic junctions due to the haste of the driver.Other drivers may be rude, bad mannered or stupid. Don't let them affect your good driving conduct. There is a saying, "If you drink, don't drive; if you drive, don't drink".Be alert and sober whenever behind the driving wheels. Alcohol always reduces the alertness of the driver. This causes the driver to be careless and dare to take unnecessary and silly risks.Cyclists and pedestrians are slow reaction users on the road. Be sober all the time.
Statistics show that pedestrians always suffer fatal accidents in an accident and usually the driver had been drinking alcohol.Watch out for elderly people using the road. Watch out for blind people walking with white canes or leased to walking dogs. Always give way to such ones. Even though you may have the right of way, give them the right of way because they do not intentionally want to wander into your path.I have an interesting research done on fuel saving and power boosting for my product for petrol cars. Knock Sensor Failure: Now What?

Author : Matthew Keegan
Bella Miller skillfully navigated her BMW 735i onto the expressway, dodging a semi that was quickly barreling down on her. Darting over to the left lane she eased up on the accelerator just enough to give herself a little bit of extra room between her car and the Blazer she was now following. Traffic was fairly heavy at this hour of the afternoon, but one kilometer down the road Bella would be able to take the left fork and follow the outer beltway for seven kilometers. Within moments she would be out of rush hour traffic and on her way home. With the fork fast approaching, Bella turned on her left turn signal and eased her car off of the expressway and onto the ramp leading to the outer beltway. Seeing that traffic was now light, she pressed on the accelerator and immediately felt a bit of hesitation followed by two loud knocks. Perplexed, Bella eased up on the accelerator and moved over to the right hand lane, reduced her speed, before pressing down on the accelerator again. This time, her BMW responded but she could still feel some sense of hesitancy, so she decided to lower her speed the rest of the way home.Upon entering her driveway, Bella stopped her car and turned off the ignition. Immediately, the engine began to shudder, knock, ping, and shudder again, before making a noise that sounded almost like a sigh, followed by silence. Promptly, Bella grabbed her purse and cell phone and exited the car and ran into her house thinking that it might explode. What Bella was experiencing was an engine that was in distress. Her BMW's knock sensor, designed to permit her V8 to run efficiently on lower grade 87 octane gasoline, had failed. This, in turn, was causing her engine to vibrate as the lower grade fuel was not enough power for her car. Before 1990, many cars did not come equipped with knock sensors. Thus, in order to prevent vibrating, high octane gas would always be a necessity in order for a car to run knock free. Eventually, knock sensors were created that allowed cars -- including Bella's 735i -- to run on cheaper, low grade gasoline. In addition, the knock sensor had the all important benefit of stopping engine shudder which can ultimately damage a vehicle. If you are experiencing engine vibration of any type, it could be that your knock sensor has failed. Don't delay; have your car checked immediately to prevent possible damage. A knock sensor is a fairly cheap to replace part compared to an engine repair which can cost you thousands of dollars.Copyright 2005 -- Matt Keegan is a contributing writer for Auto Parts Canada, a wholesaler of fine

Air Deflectors For Your Vehicle

Author : Matthew Keegan
Placing a new air deflector on your car is a wise decision. Bugs, road debris, and rocks can all macerate your hood or even break your windshield. Within moments your trip upstate has come to a screeching halt because of what was tossed up in the air by the vehicle in front of you while you were cruising down the highway. An air deflector might have sent that stone harmlessly to the side or up and over the roof of your car. Instead, your windshield took a direct hit. Let's take a look at all of the advantages of an air deflector and how installing one is a cost effective solution. An air deflector doesn't have to cost you a bunch of money and when you consider what you save in replacement glass, it pays for itself right away.Air deflectors also help manage bug splatter the same way. You understand how it is to drive around at dusk in some areas of the back country: you get hit by swarm after swarm of the largest insects. Your wipers work overtime and, yet, still the bugs still come. An air deflector pushes bugs to the side, away from your windshield so you can see clearly. An air deflector is easy to install; no special tools are needed.Air deflectors are stylish too. When purchasing an air deflector for your vehicle, you can order one that will fit your particular make and model. There is no one sized fits all air deflector; they are custom sized to give you the right fit every time.Top manufacturers include Lund, Ventshade, and GT Styling. What if We Reduced the Number of Auto Accidents By Half?

Author : Lance Winslow
What if we could bring down the number of 40,000 annual highway deaths in the United States? What if we could cut that number by a third in the next five years and a half in the next ten years? Would it be worth the Herculean effort required? Can we afford the increased cost of our automobiles if we did? What would it cost? With the United States Automakers reporting losses of enormous amounts, unions striking and SEC investigations could the industry, which employs millions take another obligation of this magnitude? What if we had better driver training and more responsibility of the drivers in their SUVs? What if the average American was in less of a hurry all the time, could be slow down the rate of deaths each month? On a given three day weekend we lose more lives to driving accidents which could have been prevented than the entire number of soldiers in the Iraq War. It is true. One weekend. What if we built into our cars better systems to keep track of the cars around us? What if our cars were communicating with smart roads, which limited our speeds? What if cars had all wheel drive electric motors on each wheel, which added stability controls. What if our cars came with collision avoidance systems? Automotive Resource Guide

Author : Matthew Keegan
Finding information about past, current, and future car offerings used to be a task that involved wading through countless glossy magazines, perusing bulky sales brochures, shifting through inky newspapers, and skimming through a host of other print material of varying sizes and depths. How many of us have subscribed to 2, 4, or even 5 or more publications just to get the latest information about our favorite cars? Today, thanks to the internet, there are a host of sites available to learn more about your classic and to take a look at concept cars. I will list some of my favorites here; I hope that you will enjoy scrutinizing them as much as I have. The Detroit News – I doubt that there is a single newspaper in the USA that matches the depth and breadth of coverage that The Detroit News provides on a daily basis about the automobile industry. It certainly makes sense that they are the leader, given that the Detroit area has long been the bastion of American automotive might. Visit www.detnews.com for more information.Car and Driver – One of my favorite print magazines shares a lot of useful information right online. My favorite feature is their break down by make and model of every single car on the market. C&D even gives visitors full access to some really great road tests they have performed on a whole host of vehicles. Very informative: www.caranddriver.comAuto Blog – Some of the best and most honest information can be read through this particular blog site. Vehicles of every stripe and persuasion are covered; breaking make/model information is shared, and readers are quick to add their personal comments. Sometimes the responses are hilarious, while other times they seem politically charged. No matter, the information given is certainly useful: www.autoblog.comEdmunds – Good information on current models and they seem to have a grasp on upcoming offerings too. Compare what they write about future models and they generally have the best "off the record" information of anyone: www.edmunds.comCar Survey – Similar to the Auto Blog, Car Survey allows users to blog in information about their vehicle. If you own a '74 Monte Carlo, an '83 Fairmount, or a '95 Intrepid, then comments about your make/model are featured by owners who have the same car as you. A good place to trace the history of specific models, foreign and domestic too: www.carsurvey.comAssorted Sites – Lastly, several smaller sites dedicated to specific car brands such as allpars.com can be extremely helpful as well as are certain commercial sites touting car parts. I also regularly refer to various car clubs and automaker sites for detailed information. So, what is the best part of conducting research on the internet for car information? Well, two actually: it is both fast and it is usually free. Now, Google your way over and find out all the information you need about your cabriolet, your pocket rocket, your off-roader, or your minivan. Everything you need is right at your finger tips and certain to pique your interest.Matt Keegan is a contributing writer for the Race Pages as well as an automotive fan. For discount

How to Fix Your Lifted Jeep Cherokee's "Death Wobble"

Author : Nat Long
If you drive a Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee and are considering a suspension lift, you may want to think twice. Unfortunately, I was forced to learn this the hard way. I bought a brand new 2001 Jeep Cherokee a couple years ago, and almost immediately stacked on Pro Comp's 3" lift kit with some 32 x 11.50 r 15 Super Swamper TSL tires. After a couple months of good riding, I started to experience what jeep enthusiasts have come to know as "the death wobble."The death wobble is basically when you are driving your lifted jeep down the road and the front end starts to shake violently. It can happen at virtually any speed, though mostly above 40 mph or so, and is a frightening experience, especially for those witnessing it for the first time. Now it doesn't throw you off the road or anything … the front end just shakes. And the only way to stop it is to slow down and pull over. So it wasn't that hard to get used to at first. But as it happened more and more, it seemed to get more and more out of control. After driving with at least one death wobble per day for about three months, I decided to take it into the shop and see what the problem was. Being of course that off-road shops are primarily in the business of ripping people off, they gave me a list of "everything that was wrong with the front end that is causing the 'TJ shimmy.'" Their proposal included the rotation and balancing of my tires, new front (and rear "cause you might as well") shocks, new and stronger track bar, new and stronger drop pitman arm, new and stronger lower control arms with some special urethane bushings, and new sway bar links. Basically, with the exception of my original lift springs, the reinstallation of the entire Pro Comp lift kit with "better" components. The bill was just over $1000.00. But to fix my death wobble, and hence my daily fear for my life, it was worth it. And even better, the new components would be strong enough to support a 6" lift if I ever wanted to go that big. The words of the salesman still ring in my ears: "Dude, you could totally run 35s with this setup."For the next couple months, everything ran fine again and I just assumed that my former Pro Comp parts just sucked. I even took the kid's advice and jumped up to 33 x 12.50 r 15 tires. My new components were working brilliantly. Then one day, riding down I-70 toward the mountains, I hit a pothole and back came the death wobble. For the next couple months, I experienced the death wobble every time I hit a pothole, crack, or even merged onto a simple uneven lane.Back at the shop, the guys, obviously not recognizing me from six months before, gave me the same proposal as the first time … almost word for word, too. My shocks, track bar, pitman arm and control arms were all shot again and needed replaced with their "better and stronger components." The guys didn't even take the time to see if my components were the same ones they had sitting on the shelf. In fact, the parts they wanted to give me this time were likely the same Pro Comp components they had replaced initially. At this point, I realized that I'd have to take matters into my own hands.I had a buddy sit in the driver's seat of my jeep and shake the steering wheel back and forth in an attempt to recreate the death wobble so I could view it from the other side. After not even two minutes, it became clear to me what the problem was. All my components were fine. The shaking was coming from the frame rail, which is connected to the axle. What was happening was simple: My tires, as off road tires tend to do, kept going out of balance. Therefore, when I hit a pothole or uneven pavement, or too high a road speed, the tires would start to wobble and fight back and forth against each other. This is probably how Fred Flintstone felt driving around with those rock tires. The fighting tires would cause the axle to shake back and forth, which in turn caused the frame rail to shake. Hence the death wobble. Now the wobble could have been stabilized by the bar attached to the frame rail; if only it was attached to a real frame.See, Jeep Cherokees and Grand Cherokees have what is referred to as a unibody design. This means that they don't have frames like a real vehicle, just a combination between a frame and a body. It's kind of like a tin can on wheels. And if you put tires under that tin can that are too big and heavy for it to handle, it's going to shake all over the road. Now I'm not saying don't lift your Cherokee, I'm just saying don't lift your Cherokee too high. It can handle 31s or 32s, but if you get any bigger or heavier tires, it won't be strong enough to consistently support them. If you want to lift a Jeep vehicle for off road purposes, I'd recommend a Wrangler. It has a frame, meaning it can handle big and heavy tires, not to mention a roll over.If you've already got a Jeep Cherokee and are experiencing death wobble, don't listen to the guys at the shop. They're just trying to get your money! Test each of the components of your front end yourself. Most of them are rock solid and rarely need replacement. Instead, just get your tires balanced. It should fix the problem right away, at least until the tires go out of balance again. To end it permanently, unless you can somehow fabricate a stabilizer bar to strengthen the front-end frame rail, the only thing you can really do is switch down to smaller tires. Or buy a normal road car …Nathaniel Long now drives a Chevy Prism. To avoid his local automotive shops, he currently purchases all parts and accessories for his car online at http://www.4wheelonline.com/.

Creating An Automotive Theme Garage Or Office

Author : Anthony Palmieri
Many people that create a theme office or garage often do not plan it from start to end with every detail, as they would for other elements of their houses of cars. When planning the area, you need to think beyond the paint colors, floor tiles, and even that corvette telephone, and think of it as museum to show case your vehicle. Look in the garage of the Mustang owner, I can guarantee that most have a banner that says Ford or Mustang, the Harley owner has a Harley logo on the wall, and most likely a decal on their daily vehicle. All of that stuff is off the shelf, and is expected, and is typical. You have selected the diamond plate cabinets, the checkered floor tiles to make your area a bit different then your buddies, but do not stop there. Consider adding custom photography to your museum and show place.Open your mind and think of what would be different. How about a wall poster, with your car, not some production poster? What about a portable display board that would tell everyone about your car, that you could take to car shows? Just open your mind and I am sure that the ideas will start to flow. Now imagine when others enter your area and see what you have. They will want their own personalized and custom and not off the shelve garage. The question is, how can you create this custom art? The evolution of computer generated graphics and photography enhancement has made this affordable to the individual, as well as smaller companies to enter this area. There are some companies such as www.PalmieriConcepts.com that can help you accomplish this by transforming your everyday pictures into custom art. A few other examples include something as simple as a picture of your car overlaid on the engine compartment, or a key element such as the gas cap of that Mustang GT. By combining this level of graphics, a plain photograph is transformed from just a photograph to an expression of personality.Plan every detail of your space and make it unique by using these ideas.Anthony Palmieri founded Palmieri Concepts, http://www.PalmieriConcepts.com

after 20 years of creating custom art work for his own pleasure and enjoyment. This business grew out of a love for motor vehicles and was started to share with others what started out as a hobby. After taking how his own pride and joys (yes this really started with family pictures and not cars) and combining them with creativity, it became obvious that many others would like to showcase their trophies as he has done.

2008 Chery QQ: Sneak Peak!

Author : Matthew Keegan
China's Chery Automotive Group is getting set to import as many as five vehicles into the US starting in the summer of 2007. These 2008 models are reportedly going to be cheaper than competing models in their respective classes, undercutting some models by as much as $10,000 per car. I have been doing a little investigating and have learned more about the Chery QQ, the three door compact that will retail for just $6995. Hold onto your hats as I read off the long list of standard features for its incredible, low price.Just when you think you have seen everything, along comes the QQ. Reportedly, QQ stands for Quality and Quick as the car is made from remnants of destroyed Soviet tanks that battled with China during a protracted border skirmish in 1970. In addition, the car zips from 0 to 48 before the engine craps out. Oh, well zero to sixty would have been nice, but alas...Standard features for the QQ will include: Seats, front and rearSeatbelts with air bagsGlass, all around as neededSteering Wheel with hornDashboardRemovable AshtrayWindow Regulators {4}Rubber GasketsPlastic MoldingPolyester Tires {4}Hubcaps with lug nutsDoor Handles with driver and front passenger keyholesAntennaTruck Key with KeyholeHeadlightsTail lightsTurn signalsBrakesShocksBumpersDoors, hood, trunk and roof are all standard; body side moldings will likely be extra. Engine, transmission, radiator, exhaust, and countless other parts will also be included once they are removed from junked Yugos and retrofitted for the QQ.Optional equipment will likely include a radio, comfortable seats, air conditioning, and perhaps even a rear window defroster. Oh, by the way, General Motors has sued and won a judgment against Chery declaring that the "Chery" name sounds too close to their Chevy name. Chery has agreed and will likely adopt the Forg name for all cars imported to the US. Ford v. Chevy: The Battle Rages On

Author : Matthew Keegan
As much as auto critics love to wring their hands over GM's and Ford's misfortunes the two automakers are locked in a perpetual battle for the coveted big pickup truck category. The Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F Series continue to duke it out for the number one spot. There is more at stake here than meets the eye…and just what would that be?For 28 years running the top selling vehicle in the US has not been a car, rather a pick up truck. That's right, America's love of pick ups extends to the point where the Ford F Series traditionally outsells the bestselling car by a factor of nearly 2 to 1 [the Toyota Camry is the best selling car, FYI]. Indeed, the second best selling truck for most of that time has been the Chevy Silverado, nemesis of the Ford.If you are a GM fan, your immediate thought is to cry "foul" over the whole matter. In reality, Chevrolet's parent company -- General Motors -- sells more full size pick up trucks than Ford year in and year out. However "the general" markets its truck under two different nameplates: Chevrolet and GMC. So, what appears to be a long running streak for Ford is just not that. At least according to GM fans.Beyond the pick up truck sales, the matter of who is number one is a source of pride for the big automakers as they have been beaten and bruised over the years by increased competition. Asian automakers continue to take away sales, as even Toyota and Nissan are now building full sized pick up trucks. Dodge, too, has grown in size and influence ever since its redone Rams hit the market in the early 1990s. So, the last area of dominance for Ford and GM is also being chipped away and no one wants to be the first to admit defeat. If you want to influence the battle, you have only one month to make a difference. Both manufacturers are certain to have amazing end of the year clearances, so shop smartly and you will come out as a winner no matter whose product you choose.Copyright 2005 -- Matthew Keegan is The Article Writer who writes on a variety of topics including: advocacy, automobiles, aviation, business, Christian themes, family, news, product reviews, travel, writing, and more. Beating the Speed Cameras at Their Own Game!

Author : Gary Prestwich
With more than 3 million motorists being caught by speed cameras, it is little wonder that Britain's motorists are becoming more and more desperate to find ways to avoid the inevitable three points and £60 fine.Unfortunately, speed cameras are not always about being safe. So whilst you may be perfectly safe driving along an empty motorway at eighty miles an hour, this does not mean that you will escape the hidden camera. As a result, many motorists are opting to fight speed cameras with technology, namely speed camera detectors. Are Speed Camera Detectors Legal? One of the leading detectors on the market is the Indic8tor that promises to be the ultimate driving experience. But are these tools legal? YES! There has been much discussion about the legality of these radars, but it has been decided, finally, that they are perfectly legal accessories.Currently, there is a bill going through Parliament that may make certain types of detectors illegal. However, the mainstream type of detector, like the Indic8tor, is likely to be sound for many years to come! How do Speed Detectors Work?A detector can work in one of three ways, through laser detection, radar detection or through GPS (Global Positioning Satellite). The latter type alerts drivers to the location of cameras, regardless of whether they are in operation or not. These types of detectors are thought of as fully compatible with the Government's policy of having highly visible cameras and are unlikely ever to be banned. Other types such as those that 'jam' signals are more likely to come under scrutiny in the next few years. How Does the Indic8tor Work?Indic8tor works in a way that allows the driver to be alerted to most of the main types of cameras that are in use on Britain's roads. Gatso cameras account for over 90% of all stationary cameras that are currently in use and are, therefore, probably the most important ones to be able to detect accurately. Fortunately, the Indic8tor manages to detect the laser from the cameras in advance. It can, therefore, warn drivers of the upcoming speed camera, while also reminding the driver of the speed limit in operation so that compliance can be maintained. The second main types of cameras in use are the mobile cameras, which are used by police officers at the side of the road. Again, these are highly dangerous to the motorist as they are, by their very nature, rarely in the same place two days in a row. Vigilance is of course necessary, but detectors such as the Indic8tor will also alert drivers in plenty of time of the upcoming camera and will remind the motorist of the applicable speed restrictions.Benefits of a Speed Camera DetectorContrary to some earlier reports, speed camera detectors are now considered to be useful driving aids, which actually encourage drivers to drive well. One of the main reasons for this is that the driver is released to concentrate on the business of driving rather than looking out for hidden speed cameras! By using detectors wisely, motorists can dramatically reduce their chances of a motoring conviction as well as making themselves much safer drivers.Remember, however, that having a speed detector does not give you carte blanche to charge around at whatever speed you wish – safety should still always come first.Like all motorists, I am fed up with getting fined for driving a few miles an hour over the speed limit when real criminals are getting away. Now I am getting away too with the Indic8tor! Visit http://www.indic8tor.com

How to Buy BMW Auto Parts

Author : John Mancini
A BMW is a status symbol; it is a car that says, "You've made it". The need to keep it as pristine, as original as possible is so strong its almost an urge. You may be replacing something as non-descript as a fan belt or something as important as the emblem from the hood. Whatever it is that needs replacing, you want it to be done with genuine BMW auto parts. If paying dealership prices is not what you had in mind, the next best place to look for BMW parts is online. There is a vast array of online stores, which specialize in genuine, generic, new and used parts for your BMW. The prices are usually less than purchasing through a dealer, however, keep in mind that these stores may lack in knowledgeable sales staff. As long as you are looking for parts for your BMW, you may want to check out the selection of accessories that are also available. These include items such as shift knob replacements and custom door handle parts, to name a few. The best way to begin a search for accessories is online or through catalogues. If you choose to purchase your BMW parts via a dealership, be sure to take advantage of the knowledge they can provide. The mechanics at a dealership can be the best people to ask basic questions of. They will be able to give you insight as to what your vehicle actually needs and may even tell you how to go about replacing it.The best place to find any type of part for your BMW is, of course through a BMW dealer. They will either have the parts needed in stock or be able to order them for you with short delivery times. They will be more expensive than other outlets, but you will know that the parts they are selling you are genuine BMW auto parts, not something that is generic.John Mancini has been writing about bmw parts online and offline for a long time. 2007 Volkswagen Polo: U.S. Debut Stalled?

Author : Matthew Keegan
Volkswagens' plans to deliver a sub-Golf sized car to the U.S. market has stalled as the German automaker considers allowing rival DaimlerChrysler [DCX] to import the car instead and sell it under the Dodge label. VW dealers are naturally unhappy about the move, but much more is at stake than what is evident. Will the Polo still show up? If not, why not?The world of automobile marketing has changed drastically in the last generation. Gone are brands that are purely set behind national borders and localized brands. Instead, vehicles are being sold that wear one label but are actually built by another manufacturer. Globalism is here and automakers have openly embraced these changes.Volkswagen's Polo is a likely entry into the U.S. market as a model that would fit nicely below VW's Golf in its American line up. Many manufacturers are changing their car lines to allow for smaller cars to become the new entry level vehicles in their fleets. Here are some examples of cars that recently were introduced or soon will find their way into car lines:Chevrolet: Korean automaker Daewoo, a GM subsidiary, supplies the Aveo for Chevrolet. This bottom rung car is positioned directly below the Cobalt.Honda: After 35 years, the Civic will no longer be the entry level model for Honda. An even smaller car, the Jazz, will be imported in about one year's time.Mercedes: Yes, even a luxury automaker such as Mercedes is contemplating bringing in one or two lines of cars smaller than its current "baby" Mercedes line, the C Class cars.BMW: Ditto for the another German luxury make.Dodge: With the Neon replacement Caliber soon to appear, Dodge is still looking at offering a car smaller than the Caliber for their fleet. With DCX's Mitsubishi relationship scuttled, the Japanese automaker can no longer be relied upon to supply a steady stream of entry level cars for The Chrysler Group.Enter Volkswagen.Yes, an unlikely supplier for DCX is Volkswagen, a strong competitor for DCX's Mercedes division in Europe. However, VW has its own needs – a minivan – and The Chrysler Group will allow VW to market a rebadged version of its minivan in the US. In exchange for the minivan, Dodge gets to market the Polo a tiny 1.2L powered four passenger car that should see city gas mileage of around 35 mpg and highway mileage of just over 50 mpg.The current Polo is marketed in Europe as three or five door hatchbacks which is not a popular body style in the U.S. VW may ship a specially reconfigured four door sedan instead to ensure interest in the this model within the U.S. market.Although VW appears committed to this special arrangement with DCX, the Polo could still be sold here as a Volkswagen too. By keeping the hatchback style for VW branded cars only, the Polo might still be available through VW dealers. Include the optional 1.9L turbo diesel and fuel mileage will soar well past sixty miles per gallon. No wonder VW dealers are aching to see the car imported!Matt Keegan is a contributing writing for PitStop Auto Parts covering

Aerodynamics-The Leading Factors in Vehicle Performance

Author : Jason Johnson
Aerodynamics is one of the leading factors in vehicle performance. Car racing has focused on this aspect ever since the 60s, when the first inverted wings were installed on formula cars. In time, the development of aerodynamic devices grew stronger, often borrowing ideas and solutions form the flight industry.By improving aerodynamics, engineers saw faster lap times and more driver control over the car, both at high and low speeds. The final element that contributes to improved handling and grip is the downforce – using the underbody of the vehicle to facilitate airflow and "stick" the car to the tarmac.Since the introduction of aerodynamics, automotive engineers used the distribution of downforce as the major decisive factor in car performance. Because of aerodynamic advancements, some racing cars reach cornering speeds of 4 G (four times the acceleration of gravity). The same factors that apply to racing cars also stand true for street legal vehicles. The shape of the car, the airflow created by accessories and car parts, the effect of the rear wing spoiler or frontal spoilers – all these contribute to the aerodynamic level of the car. For improved downforce, you can try several solutions, such as installing a well calibrated rear wing or lowering your car's suspensions.History and trends in aerodynamic development.Modern cars are always tested from an aero dynamical point of view. Wind tunnels are used on car prototypes to see what each segment of the car does to airflow, and other tools such as computational aerodynamics and aerodynamic design and optimization are employed in order to find the best airflow solutions. The concept of body streamlining appeared after Chevrolet-Chaparral implemented some groundbreaking airflow elements in their Can-Am cars. The rear axel of the car had a wing attached to two struts and the wing was adjustable at pit stops to tune the car for the best efficiency. The idea became very popular in a short while, and other aero dynamical improvements were soon to follow. Lateral sealing skirts were later developed and formula racers ended up reaching speeds of 1.7 G. Lotus introduced the ground effect car – the bottom part of the vehicle was shaped in such a way that the volume of downforce provided was much greater than with previous models.Today's cars, from a Ferrari F50 to a Smart, employ aerodynamics as an essential factor in their construction. Manufacturers focus on this aspect of car making – improved aerodynamics reduce fuel consumption, habitat noise and also provide the driver with more control and stability, thus improving vehicle safety.Copyright 2005 Jason BibbIt's very important to choose the correct high performance auto parts for your car in order to make your automobile more Aerodynamic, so choosing the right auto performance part is crucial. Volvo V70 2006: The Weekly Driver

Author : James Raia
If a buyer's priorities are comfort, performance and safety, Volvo is a fine choice. It's hard to rattle the Swedish manufacturer's reputation of delivering efficient, if undistiguished, vehicles ideal for open-road driving under any circumstances. The 2006 V70 R (station wagon) further adds to the already nice Volvo overall package with its substantial cargo room.Yet, the V70 finds itself in a tough crowd among the industry's fastest growing sales segment, the premium midsized class. It includes the Mercedes Benz E-Class, the Audi all-road Quattro, Cadillac CTS and Infiniti G35, among others. One of four model options including the XC70 (raised suspension), the V70 features a 2.5-liter turbocharged, 300-horsepower 5-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Volvo V70 has faster competitors, but with its AWD features, it feels particularly secure during any task and it has enough power and acceleration to get the job done. It's Volvo's trademark steering and handling that quickly impresses. It rained periodically and there was intermittent fog during one 200-mile round-trip test drive that begin in late-morning overcast conditions and concluded under ominous night-driving conditions. Whether entering swooping freeway entrance ramps, changing lanes at high-speed or maneuvering in the varying close-knit city and freeway traffic, the V70 performed admirably.Inclement weather -- let's say winter conditions in Sweden -- can deter many drivers, whether they're in Scandinavia or Lake Tahoe. But the secure feel of the V70, particularly with its AWD, should calm drivers' pending nerves. The V70 has a nicely designed interior, including angularly divided console and instrumentation panels. The AM/FM, CD player configuration is clean, well-contoured and features functionally clean dials and controls. Yet, the interior features, while attractive, well-constructed and nicely situated, also get lower-than-expected grades in three categories. The instrumentation backlighting is not sufficient after nightfall, primarily because the silver lettering and numbering is hard to see against the blue background. I kept trying to increase brightness level when it was already at its max.Two other concerns: the side-view mirror control, positioned on the driver's inside door panel, has an awkward mechanical formula. And likewise, the rear cargo area pull-down security cover is difficult to maneuver into place on its odd-shaped hinges - even when using two hands.Still, the V70 has wide range of fine features -- Bi-Xenon headlights to fully contoured leather seats, superior head and foot room in the front and rear seats to a tilt and telescopic three-spoke steering wheel with a race-car tight feel. The automatic transmission ($1,250), audio system with Dolby surround sound and power glass moonroof ($2,400), heated front seats ($600) and the "electric" silver metallic exterior paint ($625) are pricey options. Combined, with a $695 destination fee, the total price of my test vehicle just exceeded $45,000.For comfort, superior handling and safety and spacious cargo room, the Volvo V70 makes a strong case for itself. Yet it has plenty of more renowned opponents whose reputations are equally well earned for hard-to-argue-against reasons.2006 Volvo V70: The Weekly DriverSafety features -- Driver and passenger dual front and front-side curtain impact airbagsFuel Mileage (estimates) -- 18 mpg (city), 25 mpg (highway).Warranty -- Bumper-to-bumper, 4 years/50,000 miles; Free schedule maintenance, 3 years/30,00 miles; Corrosion, 8 years/unlimited mileage; roadside assistance, 4 years/unlimited miles.Base price -- $39,255.

From Ford Aerostar to Ford Windstar

Author : Chuck Smiths
As the manufacturer of one of the most popular vehicles out in today's roads and highways, the Ford Motor Company has made certain that they would ensure quality, safe, and reliable vehicles. They have also been acknowledged for their automobiles' designs. The company has ensured that each and every part of their vehicles has been specially designed to guarantee an excellent performance, and at the same time provide comfort for its passengers. As part of the long list of creations from the Ford Motor Company, Ford, the brand, has come up with its own unique list of vehicles crafted to make an impact on each person that it has come in contact with. One of these is a minivan that was produced and sold by the company from 1995 to the year 2003 bearing the name Ford Windstar. This was introduced in 1995 as a replacement for the brand's first minivan which was the Aerostar. However, come 2004, this model was replaced by the Freestar. This vehicle was made available with a 3.0 L and a 3.8 L V6 engines.Originally, this vehicle's project code name was supposed to be WIN88 which stood for "wagon intermediate, North America". Speculations have it that it was this code, WIN88, which had inspired the name Windstar. Later, ensuing redesigns and revamps for this Ford Windstar for the years 1999 and 2001 had then used VN, which then stood for "van, North America", for its code name. While it was still being made available in the market, the Ford Windstar has undergone two major changes in its crafting and design. Four years after it was introduced, the update was made on its overall shape. It was made to look more modern and sportier. Its grille was also altered to a grid array. Also, the window posts that could be located between the front and side doors were hidden away from view. Come the year 2001, the company rejuvenated the Ford Windstar by changing its grill once again by using a tighter array of smaller rectangles this time around. As per the Ford Windstar's drive through history, this minivan was introduced to the market as a replacement for the Ford Aerostar. And come 2003, the Ford Windstar that had replaced the Ford Aerostar had then been replaced, this time by the Ford Freestar. Ford claims and asserts that the Ford Freestar is all new, in essence, this "new" model is an updated Windstar. The name has been changed, however, it is this platform's third generation vehicle.Ford Windstar partsFord AerostarFord Parts online--------------------Chuck, a 38 year old freelance writer from Charleston, South Carolina, has been specializing on automotive-related articles and news. How To Maintain Your Car Battery

Author : Marilyn Pokorney
One of the most important parts of your car is the battery.
If it doesn't work, your car doesn't start. And, in the
winter that is even more true than in the summer. The electrical power produced by the battery is used by the
cars ignition system for cranking the engine. The car's
battery also may power the lights and other accessories.Have the battery tested on a regular basis, including when
the car is serviced, before long trips and after it's been
recharged. Here are some things you can do yourself to prevent being
stranded on a cold winter day.Know how old your battery is. To see how old your battery
is look for a small decal on the battery. A letter with a
number should be there. The letter indicates the month,
starting with "A" for January, "B" for February, and so on.
I is skipped so December is "M". The number represents the
year with "9" standing for 1999, "0" for 2000, etc. so D2,
would be April, 2002. F5 would be June, 2005. Experts
usually advise getting a new battery when a battery is four
years old.Watch for corroded terminals or battery posts, loose clamps,
loose cables, or a leaking or damaged battery case.
Look for dirty, wet, corroded or swollen cables and battery
top.Look for a loose or broken alternator belt. If the
alternator fails the battery might also need to power the
vehicle's entire electrical system until repairs can be
made.Keep jumper cables in the trunk of your car for emergency
start up. Make sure the cables are free of rust and
corrosion and that there are no exposed wires before using
them.Park your car in a garage whenever possible. If you must leave your car outside all day, go out and start
the car two or three times a day and let the car run for a
few minutes to warm up. This will help the car to start
more easily when you are ready to go.When temperatures are below zero Fahrenheit avoid leaving
the car out for extended periods of time. For more tips on keeping your battery in excellent working

Top 10 Buying Tips for Buying a Car

Author : Danny Huang
1. Money: Make sure you know what is your budget. Never exceed the amount you can afford. For instance if your income is 50,000$ USD, you shouldn't spend more than 25,000$ on the car because the car will may become a finical problem to you.2. Personal need: Ask yourself what is the purpose of the car. Decide whether you want a 4 door sedan or a 6 people van. Look into what class and what kind car you want. If the purpose of the car is just purposely transportation, then don't look into luxurious cars such as Benz or BMW. Or whether the car is for family purpose or personal love of car then you can decide whether you want a SUV or Sports Car.3. Difference Brand: Once you decide what type of car you want. Look at different brands that has similar cars. For instance, if you are looking into the Lexus IS, also look into the Nissan G35, BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Cadillac CTS. You get the point. The reason why is because the price range from the same class can range from 30,000 to 45,000 which is a lot of money. Therefore, you should go test drive and find out exactly which car you want.4. Buying it New or Used. After you decide what car you want. Start researching online on how much does the new car and the used car cost. Make you sure researching on many dealerships as well. You can save up to 1,000$ USD. Personally, I would like to buy a new car over a used car, but if there's a good deal on used car, then you should reconsider and decide yourself.5. Finance. Try to reduce the finance rate as low as possible to benefit you more. Try to look for the best plan for you and communicate with the dealer.6. Communication with the Seller. Now this is the tricky part. Dealers usually jacked up the price of the individual car because they can make more money if they make sales. Therefore, to prevent spending extra money, you should do your homework by reaching how much your car is really worth and make offers to the dealers instead of them making offer to you.7. Mileage. There no doubt that the price of gas will continue to go up. Therefore, it might be a good idea to consider how much you are willing to spend on gas. You want to find a good car with good mileage.8. 5 Benefits Of Car Covers – How Can They Protect Your Investment?

Author : Andrew Bernhardt
Why Buy A Custom-Fit Car Cover? To help protect your investment and keep your vehicle looking show-room new. Keeping your vehicle covered with a car cover can:• Prevent unsightly dents, dings and scratches• Shield it against finish-destroying man-made and natural hazards• Act as an excellent theft deterrent• Put a barrier between your paint and damaging weather• For the fifth car cover benefit visit AutoAnything.com for more detailsDents, Dings and Scratches ReferenceThere's a certain feeling you experience when you discover that first dent, ding or scratch on your new vehicle. Unfortunately, they're a fact of life and nothing short of covering your vehicle with reactive tank armor will truly prevent them. However, using a car cover adds a layer of protective padding to cushion against runaway shopping carts, absent-minded car doors or other blows.Natural Hazards GuideBirds, trees, dust. They certainly seem harmless enough, but without a car cover, they can inflict serious damage to your prized vehicle. Our fine feathered friends seem to have impeccable aim when it comes to leaving their droppings on our vehicles. Outdoor car covers catch bird bombs before they splatter against your paintjob. Plus, the majority of outdoor car cover fabrics are not harmed by the droppings acidity outdoor car cover fabrics. The shady spot under a tree may look like a welcome spot to park your vehicle. However, with nuts, berries, sap, pollen, not to mention the roosting birds, parking under a tree can wreak havoc on your vehicle. A car cover can help keep your vehicle cool, even in the sun. Or, if you do park under a tree, a car cover can safeguard your vehicle from the onslaught.Your vehicle's paint is only about 0.006 inches thick. Whether indoors or out, when dust sits on your paint it turns abrasive and causes minute scratches. By the time you notice them, it's already too late. Both indoor car cover fabrics and outdoor car cover fabrics are designed to keep dust away from the surface of your vehicle.Theft Deterrent ReferenceThough it may only look like a thin layer of fabric, a Covercraft car cover can do an amazing job at keeping thieves away from your vehicle. Since time is crucial in not getting caught, thieves often pass by covered vehicles, which take longer to get into, and go after easier prey. And, if you add a lock and cable to your car cover, you will not only keep your cover secure, but your vehicle becomes even harder to steal.Damaging Weather GuideYou don't have to be a meteorologist to know that harsh weather can do a number on your vehicle's finish. An occasional spring shower poses no real threat to your vehicle. However, seemingly harmless rain can find its way into tiny scratches or blemishes and start the corrosion process. And, acid rain - well, the name says it all. A water-resistant car cover will keep your vehicle high and dry.Harsh UV (ultraviolet) rays and the intense radiant heat of the Sun can cook the color right out of your paint. A car cover is like sunscreen for your vehicle, blocking harmful UV light and preventing photo degradation. And, a lighter colored car cover will yield a reflective cooling effect. It's not the cold that gets to your vehicle's finish - it's the moisture and salt. These two corrosive cohorts are in cahoots to ravage your paint. Fortunately, a car cover can keep both these culprits away from your vehicle. The fundamental advantages of custom-fit car coversA custom-fit car cover is specially tailored to the lines of your vehicle. No detail is left unturned. Custom-fit car covers hug every contour of your vehicle and feature sewn-in mirror pockets, plus grommet holes for antennas. On the other hand, low-quality universal-fit car covers are baggy and can slip, slide and rub against your paint, destroying your finish. Additionally, the poor fit allows the harsh elements to creep in at every gap and defeat the purpose of the cover. The specialized cut of a custom-fit car cover is far and away the best choice to wrap up and protect your vehicle. When deciding which car cover is right for your vehicle, we advise that you consider:• Where you park and how often you use your vehicle• The weather in your area• What color is right for your vehicle and storage needsWhere You Park and How Often You Use Your vehicle:• When you park outside and cover up every day, you may want to choose a lightweight outdoor car cover that's simple to use and easy to fold.• For those who park in crowded lots or on streets with children at play and heavy pedestrian traffic, a thicker heavyweight outdoor car cover that provides some dent and ding protection is best.• If you garage your vehicle and frequently cover and uncover it, a lightweight indoor car cover is ideal.• Choose a heavier indoor car cover to keep your classic safe for long-term storage.• A super-soft indoor car cover lets you pamper your "baby" and keep it safe and secure. The Weather in Your AreaThe ideal car cover for your vehicle is greatly influenced by your local weather. Many materials have been developed to deal with specific inclement weather conditions. Rainy parts of the country like the Pacific Northwest and Deep South would demand an outdoor car cover with exceptional water resistance. The coastal areas along the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of Mexico need a car cover that will protect from and last in salty air. In the sunniest zones of the country like the desert Southwest, a Coverking car cover with extra UV and photo degradation protection and reflective properties makes the most sense.Tips on What Color is Right for Your vehicle and Storage NeedsCar covers are offered in an array of colors, but picking the right hue isn't solely a matter of personal taste. Here are a few tips and points of reference to help you with your choice:• If you live in a sunnier climate, you'll want a lighter colored fabric for outdoor storage.• If you have a lighter colored vehicle, a lighter colored fabric is safer for your paint. Bright colors, although thoroughly, tested could bleed under certain conditions.• If you're looking for style, a vibrant color can lend your vehicle character or compliment its finish.Andrew Bernhardt is a writer and aftermarket accessory specialist for AutoAnything.com. GM: A Family of Brands

Author : Terry Brown
General Motors Corporation, which is also commonly known as GM, is an automobile maker that is based in the United States. However, this company has a wide scope and reach for it has operations worldwide and has a line up of brands under its name. GM automobiles are high ranking in terms of its overall capability for it has an outstanding commitment to give the automobile industry only the best kind of vehicles. And this commitment is very strictly incorporated with equally excellent quality auto parts. Its headquarters is found in the Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan. Currently, the company is one of the world's largest vehicle manufacturers.Founded in 1908, General Motors was then a holding company for Buick, which was then controlled by William C. Durant, and later on that same year had acquired Oldsmobile. Come the following year, General Motors had then expanded when Durant had bought Cadillac, Elmore, and Oakland and brought them into his company. Come 1909, General Motors was then able to acquire the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company, which is the predecessor of the GMC truck. Through the years, General Motors was then able to take up under its wing different companies that would then come together to form up a whole new company of automobiles that come in different types and models. The first American corporation to make over one billion dollars in just a year was General Motors. This happened on December 31, 1955.General Motors was actually named one of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers in 2004 by the Working Mothers magazine. However, due to its highly compensated workforce, GM has the highest health care and labor costs in the whole automotive industry. Some analysts had criticized the company for this very reason.Recently, GM had redirected resources from the development of new sedans to an accelerated refurbishment of their light trucks and SUVs for introduction as 2007 models in early 2006. However, shortly after this decision was made, fuel prices had increased by over 50 per cent, thus affecting both the trade-in value of used vehicles and the perceived desirability of new offerings in these market segments.Vehicles that were produced by the company were able to find distinction for itself because of the unique qualities that it each vehicle had. The GMC Truck produced strictly utilitarian products over a wide range of vehicle capacities. The Chevrolet was an entry-level brand that was offering high utility at a low price, with some light trucks and panel vans. The Pontiac was a brand that sold solid, extremely quiet vehicles that was considered attractive by the modest and reserved lower middle class. The Oldsmobile is a leading technical innovator with the first production automatic transmission that eventually became GM's first "performance" division. The Buick was a more expensive and luxurious brand for the upper middle class and was known to be the "doctor's car".Auto Parts InformationGM parts--------------------Terry Brown is a 32 year old from Houston Texas, and an enthusiast for anything auto-related. The Daewoo Legacy

Author : Stacey Wilson
The Daewoo automobile manufacturer lived from 1967 up until it was dismantled by the Korean government come 1999. The name Daewoo is a Korean word that means "Great House". This company was founded by Kim Woo Choong, and also, this company became one of the Big Four conglomerates in South Korean. Aside from the usual cars and vehicles, the Daewoo Group also manufactured and produced consumer electronics, computers, telecommunications products, construction equipment, buildings, and musical instruments like the Daewoo Piano. Under the Daewoo Group, there were several major corporations that were sheltering under its big industrial and conglomerate umbrella: the Daewoo Electronics, Daewoo Heavy Industries, Daewoo Ship Building, Daewoo Securities, Daewoo Telecom, Daewoo Construction, and Daewoo International. What affected Daewoo's expansion and overall business was generally cut down to several factors which included the South Korea's government's intervention, the labor market, the company's operations in a global economy, and the quality of products from Korea. Once all these affected the whole operations, the Daewoo Group then decided to cut off one its arms and thus sold Daewoo Motors, its automotive company, to General Motors in the United States. At present, the Daewoo cars that are under General Motors include the Leganza, Nubira, and Lanos, and these are sold in the United States. However, in other parts of the globe, especially in UK, other car models of Daewoo are also sold like the Matiz, Kalos, Lacetti, and the Tacuma.Daewoo has sincerely made it a point to put its best foot forward in every bit and piece that is manufactured as part of the Daewoo vehicle clan. One of these unique and sturdy parts is the Daewoo wheel. The Daewoo wheel is a circular object that works together with the vehicle's axle. This kind of pairing up allows low friction in motion by rolling. These are commonly used in conjunction with an axle, and either the wheel turns on the axle or the wheel is rigidly attached to the axle. This then turns in bearings in the body of the Daewoo vehicle. All these could be scientifically explained: the normal force at the sliding interface is the same, the sliding distance is greatly reduced for a given distance of travel, and the coefficient of kinetic friction for the interface can be very much lower. In Daewoo vehicles, Daewoo wheels are one of its most striking vehicles, and they have the power and capability to create and unmake its impression of a tough performance, luxury and comfort. Also, these wheels are more often than not used with not only performance and comfort in mind but also they are used to accessorize and provide an aesthetic function. To ensure safe and excellent driving and ride, Daewoo has guaranteed they their Daewoo wheels have the right dimensions and type and are made from quality and strong material.Auto Parts Fast provides Daewoo owners, patrons, and enthusiasts the best value for their Daewoo wheels and Daewoo parts------------------------As a former news correspondent for an auto-related website, Stacey has gathered extensive knowledge and experience in the automotive industry. This 34 year old mother of two from Memphis is a genuine car lover.

Cheap Hummers

Author : William Berg
Maybe you are one of all the people that are dreaming about their own Hummer and some people fulfil that dream by buying a cheap surplus Hummer from the military: A surplus Hummer is considerably cheaper than buying a Hummer H1 from a dealer but is still not to be considered cheap. A military Hummer is usually sold for in between 19-30 000$ which is only a fraction of the store price. This price will however not give you a fully functional Hummer for every day use.Used Hummers will never be sold by the military as they are not considered street legal as they do not pass the DOT standards. You can therefore officially never buy a used Hummer from the armed forces in the USA, they are sold as scrap. However every once in a while they get a surplus of Hummers which are sold to the public, or more truthfully. They are sold to other agencies, charitable organizations and local governments and than down the line to private individuals. These Hummers are street legal. The organization responsible for selling out the surplus Hummers are The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service which sells them to different bodies that are include on their buyer list. The above is true in the USA but a number of other nations armed forces also sell surplus Hummers that makes it possible for an individually to get their hands on cheap Hummers. There are a number of different companies that sell military surplus hummers available on the internet. Some companies have bought this cars from other organizations and agencies while other get their by trading goods whit the military and getting surplus Hummers in return for their goods. The Government never sell hummers directly to the public to safety reasons. There is always a middle man such as a company or an organisation. It can this time sometimes be hard to get hold of a car that hasn't been reconstructed for higher safety etc before being sold to the public. This is because the company who sells them usually upgrades them with newer and better parts before selling them so that they can charge a higher price. Not all sales of this type is legal and you should therefore make sure that the car you are considering buying has a SF97 form for it. This is a form that proves that the car has been officially sold as a surplus vehicle by the United States Government Certificate. This form is necessary for allowing you to owning a surplus Hummer. The military version of this car is designed more for the terrain and use in the field not on the road. This means that some work has to be done before it is a suitable private car. One of example of this is that most of them leak water which isn't a good quality in a personal vehicle. There is also very little road comfort in a surplus hummer but the commercial version of the hummer H1 is on the other hand not known for its good road comfort either. IF you by a surplus military car you might also find that it makes a little more noise than the commercial version. You might be able to find a used Hummer H1 for the cost of a surplus car plus "necessary" modifications. The used car would however most likely be older than the surplus car. There are a number of other options available for you if you want a hummer on a "limited" budget such s buying an Hummer H2 which cost roughly the same new as a military surplus car will cost you plus modifications, or a new Hummer H3 that can be yours for around 30 000$ and are much more road and family friendly.Read more about how and where you can buy a military Hummer. By visitng the site you will also find direct links to companies which sell cheap surplus Hummers. I also recommend you read more about hummer 3 if you are looking for a cheap Hummer.
