Pro 5:17-22; Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Here we see the blessedness of marriage; "Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. (Fountain; your rain of life.)
Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished(delighted to ecstasy.) always with her love. ("Hind"; gentleness, Pro.5:19, feminine modesty, Son.2:7; Son.3:5)
("roe", Slender, graceful, shy, and timid; the image of feminine loveliness (Son.4:5; Son.2:9; Son.2:17; Son.8:14).
The eye is large, soft, liquid, languishing, and of deepest black; image of swift footedness (2Sa.1:19; 2Sa.2:18; 1Ch.12:8).
Pro 5:19 - jfb;
loving ... roe — other figures for a wife from the well-known beauty of these animals.
breasts — (Compare Son_1:13; Eze_23:3, Eze_23:8).
ravished — literally, "intoxicated," that is, fully satisfied. A man, who being in the will of God, shall be please with his wife, and have no other to desire after. Sex is an important part of a marriage, but the spiritual side is also important to maintain. The Lord stated that, That which is flesh is flesh and that which is spirit is spirit. To have a successful relationship between husband and wife, it must contain both physical submission and spiritual guidance thru knowledge.Sex was established by God to populate the earth and to make a pleasant relationship between husband and wife, anything out side of this type of union is vulgar and sinful. Man has taken a beautiful thing as love between a man and a woman and made it something that is hidden. He has taken sex and made it into something that is repulsive to many. The relationship between a man and a woman, is an teaching relationship that shows us the relationship that God desires from us, it shows Gods desire to have that same relationship between Him and The Children of Israel.
God is showing us thru His word, 2 separate things, a relationship between husband and wife and a relationship between Christ and the Church.to her: Rev_3:4, Rev_3:5, Rev_3:18; Psa_45:13, Psa_45:14; Isa_61:10; Eze_16:10; Mat_22:12; Rom_3:22; Rom_13:14; Eph_5:26, Eph_5:27. Rev 19:7-9; Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? (Will you become a whore to another?)
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.(God knows all that each man does in this life.)
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.(Mans sins shall destroy him because it is the man that comitts such things that are contrary to sound judgment.) Lets read some beautiful passages of Love in, The Song of Solomon; Son 1:10-17; Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
